Modern Slavery Statement

This statement is made in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (hereafter 'the Act') and equates to our slavery and human trafficking statement.  As a Solicitor-Advocate, we are committed to acting ethically with a zero-tolerance stance to all forms of bonded labor including human trafficking and modern slavery.

Our Structure, Business & Supply Chains

Gavin Renwick is a Solicitor-Advocate of the Senior Civil Court of England & Wales. He is authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) to provide legal services to clients directly as a 'Freelancer' (SRA registered number 817401). He specialises in Civil Litigation including Construction Disputes, Clinical Negligence, Catastrophic Injury, Dispute Resolution, Insolvency, Occupational Health, Personal Injury and accidents abroad.

Due to the nature of the services that we provide, some of our supply chains are made up of providers of professional services which support and facilitate the progression of our clients cases such as medical agencies and barrister chambers. In addition, there are a range of other types of 'expert' whom support our clients as and when required including but not limited to chartered surveyors and engineers.

Furthermore, we procure the services of various suppliers whose functions support the day-to-day maintenance of our office space.

Our Polices

The polices of this practice support a zero-tolerance stance on slavery and human trafficking. Key policies that relate to our approach to minimising the risk of modern slavery occurring within our supply chain include our Contract Approval & Monitoring Policy, External Equal Opportunities Polices and Anti-Bribery & Corruption policy.

Supplier Due Diligence Process

We continue to strive to work with individuals and organisations whom share our values and culture.

This practice continues to include contractual provisions relating to legislative compliance within all supplier agreements. Over time, more of these have evolved to specifically reference the Modern Slavery Act. In addition, wherever possible we utilise a contractual right to audit key suppliers and the process for the same involves due diligence of compliance with the Act.

At the time of making this statement, we have reviewed our supplier audit template to ensure it remains fit for purpose and adequately captures the information required to consider emerging risks. Our questionnaires specifically query the policies and controls an organisation has in place to ensure compliance with the Act as well as their requirement to publish a statement.
